Tell me the story of how you met?
We met at a Gymnastics evening where Lauren worked at the time and Steve was attending with Kieran to have a crack at some gymnastics (which he never really got to grips with).
Lauren was milling around after her shift and decided to go on some of the apparatus. she was having a race with a friend to see who could climb a rope the fastest and called out to someone to hold the bottom of the rope to stop it swinging. Steve’s ears pricked up and came to offer a hand and some words of encouragement.
After Lauren reached the top of the rope, Steve called up to her “don’t slip and fall on me”, to which she replied, “you’d be so lucky”. Turns out Steve was quite lucky and here we are 7 years later.
How did you get engaged?
We booked a holiday to Rome in 2019 and Steve proposed to Lauren in a Terrace Restaurant overlooking the Colosseum.
What are you most looking forward to on the day?
Steve is most looking forward to the reality of being married after waiting for so long due to the setbacks and seeing all of his and Lauren’s family together probably for the first and last time.
Lauren is looking forward to Steve crying when she walks down the aisle and her dad seeing her in her dress. She is also looking forward to celebrating us.
